At the SCTE Cable-Tec Expo 2012, Triveni Digital will showcase a DTV loudness monitor designed to ensure U.S. cable operators maintain compliance with the CALM Act. The StreamScope RM-40 CALM audio loudness monitoring solution is designed to remotely monitor, measure, record, and analyze DTV transport streams for CALM Act compliance.
The RM-40 CALM is designed to let operators review loudness and dialnorm levels for all audio streams in real time, as well as perform CALM spot checks, set loudness thresholds to trigger alerts, review audio graphs and video thumbnails, and generate custom CALM reports that can be stored for up to six months. It delivers a daily report that identifies possible CALM violations for all services on a given transport, including IP, ASI, 8-VSB, and QAM.
Also on display at the show will be Triveni’s GuideBuilder PSIP/SI generation system. Intended for cable operators deploying clear QAM digital basic lineups, the GuideBuilder system is designed to deliver channel and guide information to digital TV sets that include a built-in clear-QAM tuner, as well as to non-decrypting, digital set-top boxes.
